I am Heeral, a homemaker turned blogger through my love for food. My husband and I live in Chicago. It’s been three years since I moved to USA, after marriage. Thanks to the H4 Visa, which does not allow me to work; I am a homemaker now. The prospect had seemed sad in the beginning, but it actually led me to take up my passion for cooking. In the present scenario, my kitchen is my “lab”, and my husband, an engineer working for an IT firm, is my official “lab-rat” (if you know what I mean).

Till now, I have experimented with, and created, over 70 recipes, mostly easy to make healthy meals. I would love to share all of them with you guys. And that is exactly what I am going to do, on my blog, ‘ZEST OF LIME’. The tagline “All you need is some food and a dream”, as some of you can get, expresses my intention in creating this blog. Most of my recipes are easy enough to prepare, and, as you will see, use completely healthy ingredients.

I am an MBA in Marketing. Born and raised in India, I am comfortable enough with Indian cuisine as I observed and learned everything from my mom. I still believe, she is the best cook in the world. Also, I have always believed in healthy cooking. Here, too, I prepare north Indian cuisine with a healthy twist and other healthy Indian dishes, on a daily basis. Over time, I came across several quick and healthy food preparations. This encouraged me to explore and think out of the box, and experiment with various flavors and ingredients.

Other than cooking, I love reading books. My favorite authors include Haruki Murakami, Rhonda Byrne, Nora Roberts, Danielle Steele, John Grisham, David Baldacci, Nicholas Sparks, the list goes on. Also, I am an ardent admirer of nature. For me nature is the best form of art. Flowers, trees, mountains, plains, birds, butterflies – eveything that has anything to do with nature, fascinates me. Music is another thing which draws me. According to me, fashion is being comfortable in your own skin. I strongly believe that, one needs to be fit and healthy from within, with good and healthy food, along with physical exercises. I love doing food photography. You guys are going to see lots of pictures of each and every one of my dishes, along with their recipes.
